Description
One day Impala was walking in the African savannah eating shrubs and things as usual. As he was walking in the African savannah eating shrubs and things, he noticed a Python that was stuck in some rocks and could not move. Mr. Python also saw the Impala and shouted this to him. “Hey there Mr. Impala, I have been stuck in these rocks for five straight days and I can’t move an inch. No animal has passed this way the whole time until today! Please help me get out of these rocks before I die of hunger and thirst!”
By and by, and inch by inch the friendly Impala helped the Python to ease out of the rocks. Eventually the large snake was free! He shouted a thank you to Mr. Impala. He went on to grab Mr. Impala into a tight grip and tell him that not only did he free him but now would provide him with a much needed meal. Imagine that!
They started exchanging bitter words since Mr. Impala felt this was the most unfair thing you could do to someone who just saved your life. At that moment, as fate in African folk lore would have it, Mr. Hare was passing by. We all know Mr. Hare is all witty and cunning. He quickly joined in and asked what the commotion was all about. Quickly Mr. Impala narrated the whole story to Mr. Hare.
Mr. Hare in all his Savannah wisdom asked the two Animals to go back to how things were so that he can see for himself how all the misunderstanding had started. Mr. Python to get stuck back in the rocks and Mr. Impala to start coming into the scene for the rescue. So Mr, Python hoping to get justified in his need to eat after five days of hunger and thirst went right back into the rocks and got stuck again. Mr. Impala foolishly hurried to help him out again! Mr. Hare quickly told him “STOP! Let’s get going! Mr. Python is mean and thankless. We are leaving him just exactly where he is. They hurried on into the vast savannah without the slightest feeling of guilt!
Lesson? Don’t go eating your buddies after they help you out of some rocks you were stuck in.
