Description
This Animal I will never stop drawing. I have drawn elephants since I was in Class 5 (5th Grade). I have never been so overwhelmed by any other animal like this. The elephants is a huge animal. I am awed by the sheer size. I think the elephant could easily live for 150 years if he could just maintain his last pair of teeth.
In most animals, including humans, teeth are produced from the top and bottom of the mouth. In elephants however, the teeth are developed from the back and push forward. Elephant have six sets of molars in their lifetime and as a tooth wears out through relentless grinding, another pushes forward to replace it.
Elephants starve to death once their teeth wear out. After six such sets elephants run out of teeth, cannot chew food they thus fall prey to disease or predators or starve to death.
The world has a way of equiting us all living beings. Not even the mighty win the battle. The world never takes prisoners. Meanwhile, let us enjoy the elephants when they are alive. They do give birth and leave their offspring, you know. That way, life continues. Life finds a way.
