Description
Women carrying water from a distant well. Water is very precious to life. Clean water is vital to our very survival. People who have grown with torrents of water in their taps at home might never comprehend what lark of water really means. Some people on this earth must travel very long distances in search of water. I once visited a friend in a very dry part of Kenya. My body kept asking for water. I drank about four bottles of water daily and kept losing it to sweat.
My friend would not take water even up to two days. I thought he was unreal. The fellow laughed at me and told me it was me who was a watery mess! He said hardship and lark of water had made him tough and resilient to dry weather. Amazing what the human body can get used to. I felt like a water melon; which, ironically do very well in dry lands!
WE need to take care of the ever decreasing amounts of fresh water on earth! We would rather start yesterday! In the near future, the biggest wars on earth could just easily be about water. There will not be anyone declaring war by decree, it will be war for survival!

Not only is this a beautiful painting, but your description is hugely insightful and I fear, accurate. Your paintings are so colorful and vibrant! like/f

Anthony, you have such a strong command on the use of colour! These women demand attention with their brilliant clothing surrounded by the more muted tones in the landscape! Marvellous work! LF
