Description
A vibrant street scene is depicted, featuring individuals in various activities, with two donkeys at the forefront. Buildings with balconies line the street, and a man in white is interacting with something above him, while another figure on a horse is accompanied by people in colorful clothing. That is Lamu for you.
Lamu is a small town on Lamu Island, which in turn is a part of the Lamu Archipelago in Kenya. Situated 341 kilometres by road northeast of Mombasa that ends at Mokowe Jetty, from where the sea channel has to be crossed to reach Lamu Island.
The Island's transport is probably the most catchy feature for the tourist who visit Lamu. Lamu Island doesn't care about roads or cars, the only means of transport available being boats and donkeys. Next time you are in the Kenyan Coast, visit Lamu, You will thank me later.
