Artist's Description

HERDING? Yes! I am one of those guys who remember this with nostalgia. I did it several times during school holidays. Just sitting or playing around with other boys as you watch cattle, sheep and goats grazing. We did not pass for the real herds-boy; we were not employed to do this job. Some might decide to call it child labor or child abuse. I prefer to call it "character building".

Due to the fact that we took care of animals in the field and to the river, we developed the need to care for things, to care for others (people). I for one was happy to know the difference between a dog and a sheep while city children thought a sheep was one crazy dog feeding on leaves!

Come to think of it, the smell of animals and the sounds of the forest was a great thing! I am just saying this about myself just in case I offend anyone. Happy Herding for those who don't mind!

I have been in the field of fine art and illustrations for over 30 years. I...
