Description
Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up and makes his nest on high? On the cliff he dwells and lodges, Upon the rocky crag, an inaccessible place. From there he spies out food; His eyes see it from afar. Yes, the Eagle is a marvel of creation.
Black-chested Snake-Eagle adult has black upperparts, with slight �scaled� effect, due to pale feathers� edges.
Underparts are white, except chin, throat and chest which are black. Underwing and undertail feathers are white, with narrow black bars across secondaries and tail.
Head is black. Hooked bill is blackish with grey cere. Eyes are bright yellow. Long bare legs and feet are grey. Both sexes are similar.
This species has an extremely large range, and hence does not approach the thresholds for Vulnerable or endangered.

I LOVE THIS. With all the Eagles you've portrayed, still, each one retains a separate, special sense of identity. All are standouts. Having said that, this painting is now my current favorite. There's something powerful about the bird, yet also bold, dashing, beautiful. How perfect that such an Eagle with those marvelous feathered tones, should make a dramatic appearance before us, with a fabulous Technicolor sky!! Queue the orchestra to create dreamlike, ethereal music while the cameras are rolling... "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up".
